Elaine Scherperel maintains a private teaching studio at her home in Cranston, Rhode Island. Now semi-retired, she was previously a vocal instructor as well as member of the Board of Directors at the prestigious international program, The Institute for Young Dramatic Voices, of which renowned dramatic mezzo soprano Dolora Zajick is general director.
Elaine returned to her native Rhode Island in 2010, after many years' absence.
Among Elaine’s former students are award winners at the local, regional, and national levels, including one national Metropolitan Opera Council Auditions winner who is now enjoying an international career.
Elaine welcomes all levels and voice types and is qualified to teach vocal technique. Also a vocal coach and accompanist, she has intimate knowledge of the classical/operatic repertoire and the singing languages - Italian, German, French, and English.
